Scrolling through LinkedIn one day, David, a computer science (almost) graduate, stumbled upon a post by Wakilni advertising an internship opportunity. Even though the job description entailed something that did not resonate with David’s goals at the time, he still went ahead and applied. He just wanted a job! Not much later, he got the offer!
With 12 credits still left during his last semester, he now wondered how to balance an internship with his studies. However, Wakilni’s flexible working hour policy allowed him to pursue both his work and studies effectively, as he completed his final semester with straight A’s.
Upon joining Wakilni, he did in fact sit behind a laptop screen but not in vain! As a client onboarding officer, he learned how to communicate with clients. His tasks included opening up accounts for new clients on the Wakilni portal, covering up for other onboarding officers when they take off, and replying to customers’ inquiries regarding onboarding matters. His intern experience under the mentorship of Agop (Onboarding & Client Success Manager) and Alice (Client Onboarding Senior Supervisor) made him feel welcome as he described the internship as “easy-paced and fun.”
As luck would have it, David is now a part-time employee at Wakilni where he has assumed his intern role of a client onboarding manager. “I feel the time passes quickly because it’s fun working here,” he says. Moreover, despite his initial interest skewed towards computer science, he is enjoying his department position as it is. “The HR Department also told me once there is an opening in the Tech Department, they will inform me since this is my field,” he said about his potential advances at Wakilni.
